I'm absolutely mesmerized by these multiple exposures of Paris. So hypnotic!

Paris, the City of Light

PARIS, THE CITY OF LIGHT (FULL LENGTH HD VERSION) from Trak on Vimeo.

"Paris, City of Light doesn't mean "the city with a lot of beautiful lights" but, rather, "the city where, during the eighteenth century, the lights of science (with the biologists like Buffon or Jussieu and with the encyclopedy writers like Diderot or d'Alembert) and the lights of philosophy (Voltaire, Rousseau, Condorcet, Montesquieu, ...) have been lit."

I've watched this video a few times already, and I thought I'd share it here. It's so beautiful and magical.

Directed by Benjamin Trancart.

We will always have Paris

This would be perfect for a Casablanca fan, like my mom. (I lost count of how many times we've watched the movie, but let me tell you that we know the dialogue by heart). I'd love for this quote to be available as a print so I could frame it and give it to her.

Lucile Prache

Totally smitten with the work or Paris-based illustrator Lucile Prache. She spends most of her time drawing on her kitchen table and her studio is near the Opera Garnier. What a life!
Already on my wishlist: A Macaron a Day Print (above), there's more beautiful artwork on her etsy shop.
Visit her portfolio for more eye candy!

Live the Language | Paris

Ok, watch this video and then tell me you don't want to pack your bags and move to Paris.
Beautifully edited, this video manages to capture all the magic of The City of Lights and makes you want to be there. Also, AMAZING typography.
Vivez la langue, indeed.

Also, other cities: London, Barcelona and Beijing.

Parisian Chic

Ines de la Fressange's new book "Parisian Chic" (or La Pariesenne") is full of beautiful images of outfits featuring Ines' daughter, Nine,  and tips on how to nail that coveted Parisian style.
Already published in France, the book will be available in United States in April and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

We'll always have Paris...

A few years ago, I was lucky enough to visit Paris. Of course, the city is amazing, the food is to die for ( and so is the water) and, contrary to what many people think, the french are amazingly kind and polite.

These are a few of my favorites things from Paris:
I was dying to go to the Centre Pompidou, but due to "le grève" (strike) I couldn't go. Still, I went every single day hoping the strike would be over, but no luck. Another reason to go back to Paris. :)

Ah! Another strike.

I took this picture while walking around Montmartre. I thought the blue door was adorable, and as usual, I wondered: Who lives here?

I loved the Catacombes. They are creepy, a little scary and very interesting.
