Miami Beach through my lens: December

For the last installment of Miami Beach through my lens, I decided to feature my favorite place in Miami Beach: the beach, of course!
It's such a luxury (and a blessing) to live right by the beach. Whether it's a walk by the beach early in the morning or at sunset, or spending the day lounging in the sand, or a bike ride by the boardwalk, over-viewing the ocean, I find that going to the beach (and taking a dip in its warm waters), it's restorative and relaxing.

My favorite spot is between 1st and 3rd St, right by South Pointe Park. I love that it's almost always empty, it feels very secluded and private.

I've said this many times, but I can't believe another year went by. I showed you my favorite places in Miami Beach, but there are many other places I've discovered and fell in love lately. I'll keep sharing my finds with you.

This project has been an ode to my city. I truly love living here and I'm excited about discovering the Magic City. Stay tuned!

Miami Beach through my lens: November

For the second to last month of 2014, I decided to check out this new Italian restaurant: Via Emilia 9
This place is all about authentic Italian fare and a charming, cozy, homey interior with mismatched chairs and tables. My kind of place.
I had one of the chef's specialties: Tagliatelle with Mushroom and Salsiccia in a creamy sauce, and it was perfect. The tiramisu was also excellent.

Definitely, a place I will come back.

Miami Beach through my lens: October

For October, I decided to go to one of me favorite places in South Beach, 555 Wine Depot.
It's a wine store/bar bistro and you can buy the wine and take it home, or you can pick a bottle of wine, pay a cork fee and drink the wine there. So you pay retail price for a wine of bottle in a South Beach restaurant, which is great!
The place itself is beautiful, with a patio area, an amazing bar with a crystal chandelier, all surrounded by crates of wine.

Miami Beach through my lens: September

I can't believe September is coming to an end already! Time surely passes by fast, especially when you're having fun.

This month, I went to Yardbird, a Southern restaurant that's been a huge hit since it's opening, (and now they're opening a second location in Las Vegas soon).

As a huge lover of Southern food and culture, I was excited to go and try the food. The ambiance is charming, and I fell in love with the Blackberry Bourbon Lemonade and the Macaroni & Cheese.

I can't wait to go back for Brunch on the weekends. Yardbird, you have become a favorite of mine.

Miami Beach through my lens: August

Last month, I checked out the Bass Museum of Art in Miami Beach. The museum was found in 1963 from a private collection by art collectors John and Johann Bass. The main focus is on international contemporary art; but it also features a permanent collection with works from the 19th century and Asian art.

There is a current exhibition titled Gold that I wanted to check out and I thought was fantastic. It includes installation, video, art, and sculptures by different artists, all with the precious metal as the main subject.

There is another wonderful exhibition by artist El Anatsui, titled Gravity and Grace: Monumental works by El Anatsui. This is his first solo show in the United States, and I highly recommend you see this if you have the chance. He constructs this very large metal wall and floor sculptures that left me completely in awe.

I always feel so inspired after visiting a museum, and the Bass Museum is a great place to unwind from the everyday hustle and get a strong dose of inspiration.

Miami Beach through my lens: July 2014

This month, I went to Juvia, a beautiful rooftop bar and restaurant, with amazing panoramic views of South Beach.
They serve a fusion of French, Peruvian and Japanese cuisine, but my favorite part were the cocktails. The sangria and mojitos were so refreshing in the hot summer afternoon.
I will definitely be coming back to Juvia, and if you visit Miami, make sure to stop by and watch a sunset while sipping your favorite cocktail!
