Any plans for the weekend? I'm planning on sleeping as much as possible and catch up on my reading. These past few weeks I've read The Sell, Spartan Up, and Skin Cleanse. I really enjoyed them and highly recommend them!

highlights of the week + happy friday

A few things that made me happy this past week: an excellent empanada and cortadito at La Provence in Coral Gables, the Miami skyline heading downtown, and live music at my current favorite hangout in SoBe: Bodega. 

I'm excited about the weekend! I'm planning on making crepes for breakfast and go on a bike ride.

highlights of the week + happy memorial weekend

This week has been all about procrastinating! Sad, but true. I went swimming and it felt great to get in the water and stretch those muscles. I've found that if I don't plan my workouts, I just find excuses not to exercise, so I've been making schedules. I'll go swimming again tomorrow, and I'll ride my bike on Sunday morning.
Memorial Day weekend gets pretty crazy here in South Beach, so I'm planning in staying indoors most of the time.

highlights of the week + happy weekend

Any plans for the weekend? I had a busy week, but I'm happy I could had breakfast with my best friend Paola and we caught up with our lives. I also had a 12oz macchiato that left me wired. I've been swimming a lot, which feels amazing in this hot weather. I went to the beach and actually swam in the ocean, which I swore I wouldn't do it anymore, but the water was so tempting. I said I only would dip my toes, but kept going and going.

I managed to wake up early today and see the sunrise. It was amazing! Why don't we do it everyday? What a spectacle Mother Nature puts for us, and I usually miss it. Anyway, any plans for the weekend? I'm hoping I can wake up early again tomorrow and see another sunrise. I foresee multiple cups of coffee in my near future!

What's in store for the weekend? I'm hoping to go swimming tomorrow and maybe do brunch Saturday morning.

The other morning, I grabbed my towel and bike and head over to South Pointe park for a bike ride and ocean swim. But when I got to the beach I saw news crews and lots of people gathering around something. It was a dead shark on the shore! Needless to say, I didn't go into the water at all. I love going in the ocean, but after seeing a shark so close (although a dead one), I don't think I'll go in the water in a looong time.
