Nowhere Boy

Lately, I've been watching a lot of great films and documentaries, and I thought I'd share a few of my favorites.

Last night, I watched Nowhere Boy, a fantastic movie starring Aaron Johnson that tells the story of rebellious teenager John Lennon and the events that lead to the formation of the Beatles. Great film, I highly recommend it!

If you have recommendations for me, please share them, too! I adore movies and I'm always happy to learn your favorites.

James Dean

I finally had he chance to watch the movie "James Dean",  starring James Franco. I had this on my Netflix queue forever, but it was filed under "very long wait", then it wasn't available for a while. Now they have it back, and I didn't have to wait too long to get it. I watched last night, and I highly recommend it.  The resemblance between the two James is uncanny, and Franco gives an amazing performance.
You all should watch it!

*Sorry for the quality of the video, but that's the best one I could find!

Movie Quotes

"A boy's best friend is his mother."

Norman Bates

Psycho is my favorite movie ever, and being the classic that it is, I wasn't surprised to see this famous quote in the American Film Institute's 100 Quotes List. Also, see the Top 10 Movies List, there are so many movies I haven't seen yet!

Jude Law

I have the biggest crush on Jude Law, and after watching "Alfie" the other night, it's safe to say that I'm seriously in love. He's too beautiful for words (and that accent!) Enjoy!

More James Dean, please

James Dean only appeared in 3 movies, and after watching them all , I think it's safe to say that I'm totally in love with him! He was so talented and incredibly handsome.
I found some interesting footage of him, like his last interview. Ironically, he gives advice to young drivers saying: "Take it easy driving, the life you might save might be mine." James was only 24 years old when he died in a car accident.
If you want to see more James Dean, I recommend this tumblr dedicated to him, his official website, and his bio.

"Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today."

Rebel without a Cause

I've been watching a lot of good movies on Netflix, like "The Godfather" trilogy and "Rebel without a cause". Now I have a  big crush on James Dean. Wasn't he dreamy? Inspired by one of my favorite designers Meagan Fisher, I saved some screenshots of my favorite scenes from "Rebel without a cause".

Trying to avoid a fight.

With a blood-stained shirt.

Judy and Plato.

Just before the car race.

His iconic red jacket.

Natalie Wood as Judy.

I think they took this scene as an inspiration for this shot.

They're already in love.

Concerned.

Crying over his friend Plato.

With Judy.

Have you seen "Rebel without a cause"? Next, I'm watching "Giant". I'm sure I'm going to love it as much as I loved "Rebel".
Have a good week!

Alice in Wonderland: A Visual Companion

So, you're a Tim Burton fan, just like me. You love every movie he's ever made, and you wonder about the creative process, the making of, everything that happens behind the camera and how they design the sets. If you loved Alice in Wonderland (the movie) as much as I did, you will love this book: Alice in Wonderland, A Visual Companion by Mark Salisbury. Really beautiful.
